Atlanta, GA (October 1, 2010) – Joseph (Joe) R. Rollins and Robert (Robby) E. Schultz, III have been named as 2010 FIVE STAR Wealth Managers by Atlanta Magazine and Crescendo Business Services in the October 2010 edition of the magazine. The individuals who receive this award are selected based on a rigorous research process and represent less than 2% of Wealth Managers in the Atlanta area.

This marks the third straight year for Joe and the second consecutive year for Robby that they have been named as FIVE STAR Wealth Managers by Atlanta Magazine and Crescendo Business Services.

The Problem - Well over half of the consumer responses in the Atlanta area indicated it is difficult to find a wealth manager they trust and rely on (2009 Consumer Survey, Quantitative Market Intelligence).

With more than 25,000 wealth managers in the Atlanta area, how do you find someone who listens to you, represents your interests and operates with an emphasis on integrity and service? Atlanta Magazine wanted to help. The magazine formed a partnership with Crescendo Business Services, an independent research firm, to find out which wealth managers scored highest in overall satisfaction.

The Selection Process - Crescendo surveyed, by mail and phone, to approximately 1 in 4 high-net-worth households (over 116,000 households) within the Atlanta area. An additional 14,500 surveys were sent to local financial services industry professionals.

On the surveys, recipients were asked to evaluate only wealth managers whom they knew through personal experience and to evaluate them based upon nine criteria: customer service, integrity, knowledge/expertise, communication, value for fee charged, meeting of financial objectives, post-sale-service, quality of recommendations and overall satisfaction. Both positive and negative evaluations were included in the scoring, and only wealth managers with more than five years of experience in the financial services industry were considered.

Next, each wealth manager was reviewed for regulatory actions, civil judicial actions and customer complaints as reported by FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority), the SEC, the State Board of Accountancy, and the State Bar.

Then, before finalizing the list, wealth managers were reviewed by a blue ribbon panel comprised of individuals from within the financial services industry. Although panelist comments were incorporated into the final score, safeguards were built into the review process to reduce the ability of panel members to influence the composition of the final list on the basis of company affiliation.

The resulting list of 2010 FIVE STAR Wealth Managers is an elite group, representing less than 2 percent of the wealth managers in the Atlanta area. Only 454 of the top-scoring wealth managers made this year’s list. Although this list will certainly be a useful tool for anyone looking for help in managing their financial world, it should not be considered exhaustive. Undoubtedly, there are many other excellent wealth managers who, for one reason or another, are not on this year’s list.

Atlanta, GA (October 2, 2009) – Joseph (Joe) R. Rollins and Robert (Robby) E. Atlanta Magazine wanted to help. The magazine formed a partnership with Crescendo Business Services, an independent research firm, to find out which wealth managers successfully satisfied key client satisfaction criteria and overall scored the highest in client satisfaction.

The Selection Process - In February 2009, Crescendo surveyed, by mail and phone 70,000 high-net-worth residents in the Atlanta area and subscribers of Atlanta Magazine. An additional 6,500 surveys were sent to financial services industry professionals.

On the surveys, recipients were asked to select only wealth managers whom they knew through personal experience, and to evaluate them based upon nine criteria: customer service, integrity, knowledge/expertise, communication, value for fee charged, meeting of financial objectives, post-sale-service, quality of recommendations and overall satisfaction. Only original surveys – no copies – returned in their specially designed envelopes were accepted as valid.

By March, stacks of surveys had arrived and Crescendo began carefully scoring each wealth manager. Both positive and negative evaluations were included in the scoring. Only wealth managers with five years of experience in the financial services industry were considered.

Next, each wealth manager was reviewed for regulatory actions, civil judicial actions and customer complaints as reported by FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) and other regulatory agencies.

Financial advisors are granted admission into WiserAdvisor (www.wiseradvisor.com) based on their credentials and qualifications. All members offer their services to investors with a fee rather than solely with commissions, allowing them to assist investors with a variety of different investment options. All members are also properly registered with the SEC, FINRA or other regulatory organizations.

Since 2003, WiserAdvisor has focused on taking much of the guesswork out of finding a qualified financial advisor or financial planner. This is done both through the stringent admittance guidelines, as well as through the information provided to investors about each member advisor. All members must complete an extensive profile outlining their services, qualifications and credentials, including their education background.

Because of the strict standards that a financial professional must meet in order to become a member, WiserAdvisor only admits a select few high-quality financial advisors and financial planners. More than 600,000 professionals can provide insurance and financial advice. Less than 1% have been granted membership into WiserAdvisor.

Admittance to Paladin Registry Awarded

For Immediate Release

Contact: Rollins Financial, Inc.

Website: www.rollinsfinancial.com

Sacramento, CA (February 18, 2009) – Paladin announced that Eddie Wilcox has been admitted to the Registry and he has been awarded Paladin’s Five Star quality designation.

The Paladin Registry (www.paladinregistry.com) provides free public services to investors who use the services of financial planners and advisors. Since its inception, more than 300,000 investors have used the Registry to learn how to avoid bad financial advice, to learn how to select high quality advisors, to find competent, trustworthy professionals, to rate current advisors, and to review advisor documentation for credentials, ethics, and business practices.

Jack Waymire, Paladin founder and author of the highly regarded book Who’s Watching Your Money? The 17 Paladin Principles for Selecting a Financial Advisor (ISBN 0471476994, John Wiley & Sons, December, 2003) said, “Registry services solve three major problems for investors who rely on planners and advisors to achieve their financial goals. First, it’s not easy for investors to find high quality advisors. Second, when they find advisors they may not know the right questions to ask to determine their quality. And third, they may not know good answers from bad ones. Consequently, millions of investors hire the wrong advisors for the wrong reasons and fire them within two years.”

Waymire went on to say, “The Registry solves the quality problem by having the highest minimum standards in the financial services industry. Planners and advisors must complete a comprehensive questionnaire and score in the top 10% of their profession to be admitted to the Registry. In addition, they must be Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) or Investment Advisor Representatives (IARs), acknowledge their fiduciary status, provide independent advice, and work for fees.”

Waymire confirmed that only a small percentage of practicing planners and advisors can meet the Registry’s strict requirements. He said, “We focus on the top tier of professionals who are paid to help investors achieve their financial goals. We exclude the bottom 90% who are frequently paid commissions to sell investment and insurance products. Anyone who isn’t paid to help investors achieve their financial goals is a potential risk.”

He added, “This risk exists because the financial services industry has no minimum standards for advisors. There are no education requirements, not even a high school diploma, and no experience requirements. In fact, 18 year olds and people with criminal records can obtain securities licenses. The combination of no standards and no disclosure requirements create a major risk for investors and the Paladin Registry is one of the few resources that help them avoid the risk.”

About Paladin Registry, LLC
Paladin is an information services company and not a financial services company. The Registry provides free public services to investors who use the services of financial planners and advisors. The four primary services are investor education, advisor search, advisor ratings, and advisor documentation. Visit Paladin’s website at www.paladinregistry.com for additional information.

FIVE STAR: 2008 Best in Client Satisfaction Wealth Managers (SM) Announced

For Immediate Release

Website: www.rollinsfinancial.com

Atlanta, GA (October 3, 2008)Joseph (Joe) R. Rollins has been named as a 2008 FIVE STAR Best in Client Satisfaction Wealth Manager. The individuals who receive this award are selected based on a rigorous research process and represent less than 3% of Wealth Managers in the Atlanta area.

In the October issue of Atlanta Magazine, the 2008 FIVE STAR: Best in Client Satisfaction Wealth Managers (SM) are announced. Atlanta Magazine formed a partnership with Crescendo Business Services, an independent research firm, to identify the “best in client satisfaction” wealth managers serving the Atlanta area. In February 2008, Crescendo surveyed, by mail and phone 95,000 high-net-worth residents in the Atlanta area and subscribers of Atlanta Magazine. An additional 9,000 surveys were sent to leaders of financial service industry companies.

Then, before finalizing the list, wealth managers were reviewed by a blue-ribbon panel. The blue-ribbon panel was comprised of knowledgeable individuals from within the financial services industry. Although panelist comments were incorporated into the final score, safeguards were built into the review process to reduce the ability of panel members to influence the composition of the final list on the basis of company affiliation.

The resulting list of 2008 FIVE STAR Wealth Managers is an elite group, representing less than 3 percent of the wealth managers in the Atlanta area. We hope this list serves as a referral network for the 368,000 readers of Atlanta Magazine. Is this list exhaustive? Of course not. There are undoubtedly many other excellent wealth managers who, for one reason or another, are not on this year’s list.

Website: www.rollinsfinancial.com

Atlanta, GA (September 17, 2008) – On Friday, Sept. 19, hot Georgia asphalt will sprout green grass for a day in order to celebrate and promote the need for more parks and green space in the city. In a local effort synchronized with a one-day national event to transform parking spaces into “public parks” spearheaded by the Trust for Public Land (TPL), the City of Atlanta Office of Sustainability and the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs will collaborate with Rollins Financial, Inc., Park Pride and The Home Depot Foundation to raise awareness and support the need for more parks. Other groups around the City will be creating similar sites to illustrate the effort.

National Park(ing) Day – celebrated in more than seventy cities across the US – is sponsored by The Trust for Public Land (TPL), a national, nonprofit, land conservation organization that is dedicated to conserving usable land in cities for parks, playgrounds, gardens and green space so that city living isn’t just convenient but lovely.

The public is encouraged to create their own public park and is also invited to enjoy the planned local Park(ing) Day parks at the following locations:

  • Downtown: The City of Atlanta will host a site in front of City Hall called “HOME GROWN,” featuring local produce, art and music from 11 am until 2 pm. The outdoor, family friendly park will showcase music from Atlanta’s own singer-songwriter, Heather Luttrell and her father, Ralph Luttrell, art by local artist, Gloria Patino, and produce from Truly Living Well Natural Urban Farms’ leader, K. Rashid Nuri.
  • Midtown: The Trust for Public Land (TPL) will host a site at The Varsity at the corner of Spring Street and North Avenue highlighting parks as places for active recreation.
  • Buckhead: Pace Academy will host a site in front of Whole Foods at 77 West Paces Ferry Road
  • Georgia Tech: The Planners Program will host a site near Tech Square
Atlanta has been known as, “The Gateway to the South,” and with our current leadership and visionaries, we are planting the seeds to grow a New Green South.

With Atlanta’s help, more than 400 temporary parks will be created on Friday in public parking spaces across the country. Photos from last year’s event and ideas for creating your own public park, as well as a full list of cities with maps and details are available online at tpl.org/parkingday.
