Atlanta’s 2012 FIVE STAR Wealth Managers Announced

For Immediate Release

Contact: Rollins Financial, Inc.
Phone – 404.892.7967
Website: www.rollinsfinancial.com

Atlanta, GA (October 1, 2012) – Robert (Robby) E. Schultz, III has been named as 2012 FIVE STAR Wealth Managers by Atlanta Magazine and Five Star Professional in the October 2012 edition of the magazine. The individuals who receive this award are selected based on a rigorous research process and represent less than 4% of 18,400 Wealth Managers in the Atlanta area.

This marks the third time that Robby has been named as FIVE STAR Wealth Managers by Atlanta Magazine and Five Star Professional (2009, 2010, and 2012).

2012 Atlanta Five Star Wealth Managers

In a consumer study about dynamics between wealth managers and their clients, Five Star Professional polled wealth managers and consumers about communications. Both groups said that connecting three to four times a year is the right communications strategy, but expectations are not aligned in all areas:
  • 29% of consumers want to be contacted by their wealth manager whenever events require an update; only 7% of wealth managers say they contact clients based on the impact of events.
  • 63% of consumers say they receive the right amount of communication from their wealth manager.
From research conducted by Five Star Professional, April 2011.

Wealth managers, broadly defined, are those individuals who help you manage your financial world and/or implement aspects of your financial strategies. Common examples of wealth managers are financial advisors, financial planners, investment advisers, tax advisors and estate planning attorneys.

How do you find a wealth manager with experience, who has a good base of clients with high retention rates, and who has undergone a regulatory and complaint review? And when you find them, are they accepting new clients?

Atlanta magazine and Five Star Professional partnered to find wealth managers who satisfy 10 objective eligibility and evaluation criteria that are associated with wealth managers who provide quality services to their clients. Among many distinguishing attributes, the average one-year client retention rate for this year’s award winners is more than 96 percent.

A Select AWARD - The resulting list of 2012 Five Star Wealth Managers is a select group, representing less than 4 percent of the wealth managers in the Atlanta area.

Although this list is a useful tool for anyone looking for help in managing their financial world or implementing aspects of their financial strategies, it should not be considered exhaustive. Undoubtedly, there are many excellent wealth managers who, for one reason or another, are not on this year’s list.

Award CANDIDATES - In order to consider a broad population of high-quality wealth managers, award candidates are identified by one of three sources: firm nomination, peer nomination or pre-qualification based on industry standing. Self-nominations are not accepted Atlanta award candidates were identified using internal and external research data, including a survey to more than 10,800 registered financial services professionals and all identified financial service companies in the area that are registered with FINRA or the SEC.

Determination of AWARD WINNERS - Award candidates who satisfied 10 objective eligibility and evaluation criteria that are associated with wealth managers who provide quality services were named 2012 Five Star Wealth Managers.

The CFA Institute Welcomes Edward (Eddie) Wilcox as a New Charterholder

For Immediate Release

Website: www.rollinsfinancial.com

We proudly announce that Edward (Eddie) Wilcox, Partner and Financial Adviser at Rollins Financial, has successfully completed the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst® Program and has been accepted by the CFA Institute as a new charterholder. The CFA designation was introduced in 1963, and it has since become one of the most respected and recognized investment credentials in the world for its rigorous focus on current investment knowledge, practical analytical skills, and performing in the client’s best interest.

When Eddie decided to earn his CFA designation, he embarked on a graduate-level study program that combines a comprehensive curriculum with stringent professional conduct requirements. The program concludes once candidates pass three consecutive and increasingly difficult exams that are widely considered to be among the most intensive in the investing profession. Only around one in five candidates who enroll in the CFA Program pass all three exams and meet the professional and ethical requirements to earn the charter. Earning the designation demonstrates Eddie's mastery of the skills most needed for investment analysis and decision making in today's fast-evolving global financial industry.

"Earning the CFA charterholder has been challenging but rewarding. I believe the knowledge I've gained will be an invaluable supplement to my financial work experience as it has provided me with a strong foundation from which to draw when analyzing investments and managing portfolios," explained Eddie.

Eddie has worked for Rollins Financial for over 10 years, joining the firm as a client specialist and asset manager, and becoming a partner in 2007. His primary responsibilities are designing and modeling complex investment strategies and coordinating their successful implementation with other members of the investment advisory group. Eddie is also Rollins Financial’s chief compliance officer, and as such, he is responsible for ensuring that we are in compliance with regulatory and legal obligations.

Since completing the CFA program, Eddie has been enjoying spending some quality time with his family again. Eddie’s wife, Jennifer, also works at Rollins, and she is especially proud of his accomplishment. After all of his hard work, she’s quite happy to see Eddie chasing their very active daughters around instead of his nose being buried in textbooks all the time.

Congratulations, Eddie! We’re so glad you’re on our team.

Atlanta’s 2010 FIVE STAR Wealth Managers Announced

For Immediate Release

Contact: Rollins Financial, Inc.

Website: www.rollinsfinancial.com

Atlanta, GA (October 1, 2010) – Joseph (Joe) R. Rollins and Robert (Robby) E. Schultz, III have been named as 2010 FIVE STAR Wealth Managers by Atlanta Magazine and Crescendo Business Services in the October 2010 edition of the magazine. The individuals who receive this award are selected based on a rigorous research process and represent less than 2% of Wealth Managers in the Atlanta area.

This marks the third straight year for Joe and the second consecutive year for Robby that they have been named as FIVE STAR Wealth Managers by Atlanta Magazine and Crescendo Business Services.

The Problem - Well over half of the consumer responses in the Atlanta area indicated it is difficult to find a wealth manager they trust and rely on (2009 Consumer Survey, Quantitative Market Intelligence).

With more than 25,000 wealth managers in the Atlanta area, how do you find someone who listens to you, represents your interests and operates with an emphasis on integrity and service? Atlanta Magazine wanted to help. The magazine formed a partnership with Crescendo Business Services, an independent research firm, to find out which wealth managers scored highest in overall satisfaction.

The Selection Process - Crescendo surveyed, by mail and phone, to approximately 1 in 4 high-net-worth households (over 116,000 households) within the Atlanta area. An additional 14,500 surveys were sent to local financial services industry professionals.

On the surveys, recipients were asked to evaluate only wealth managers whom they knew through personal experience and to evaluate them based upon nine criteria: customer service, integrity, knowledge/expertise, communication, value for fee charged, meeting of financial objectives, post-sale-service, quality of recommendations and overall satisfaction. Both positive and negative evaluations were included in the scoring, and only wealth managers with more than five years of experience in the financial services industry were considered.

Next, each wealth manager was reviewed for regulatory actions, civil judicial actions and customer complaints as reported by FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority), the SEC, the State Board of Accountancy, and the State Bar.

Then, before finalizing the list, wealth managers were reviewed by a blue ribbon panel comprised of individuals from within the financial services industry. Although panelist comments were incorporated into the final score, safeguards were built into the review process to reduce the ability of panel members to influence the composition of the final list on the basis of company affiliation.

The resulting list of 2010 FIVE STAR Wealth Managers is an elite group, representing less than 2 percent of the wealth managers in the Atlanta area. Only 454 of the top-scoring wealth managers made this year’s list. Although this list will certainly be a useful tool for anyone looking for help in managing their financial world, it should not be considered exhaustive. Undoubtedly, there are many other excellent wealth managers who, for one reason or another, are not on this year’s list.

Atlanta, GA (October 2, 2009) – Joseph (Joe) R. Rollins and Robert (Robby) E. Atlanta Magazine wanted to help. The magazine formed a partnership with Crescendo Business Services, an independent research firm, to find out which wealth managers successfully satisfied key client satisfaction criteria and overall scored the highest in client satisfaction.

The Selection Process - In February 2009, Crescendo surveyed, by mail and phone 70,000 high-net-worth residents in the Atlanta area and subscribers of Atlanta Magazine. An additional 6,500 surveys were sent to financial services industry professionals.

On the surveys, recipients were asked to select only wealth managers whom they knew through personal experience, and to evaluate them based upon nine criteria: customer service, integrity, knowledge/expertise, communication, value for fee charged, meeting of financial objectives, post-sale-service, quality of recommendations and overall satisfaction. Only original surveys – no copies – returned in their specially designed envelopes were accepted as valid.

By March, stacks of surveys had arrived and Crescendo began carefully scoring each wealth manager. Both positive and negative evaluations were included in the scoring. Only wealth managers with five years of experience in the financial services industry were considered.

Next, each wealth manager was reviewed for regulatory actions, civil judicial actions and customer complaints as reported by FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) and other regulatory agencies.
